Architect: Bradford Robertson
Syphonic Drainage: Fullflow

Fullflow designed, manufactured and installed their ISO 9001:2000 certified syphonic systems on the £85 million state-of-the-art Rolls-Royce production facility in Inchinnan, Scotland. The BBA approved syphonic system removes rainwater from the 40,000 m² roof area at high velocity through pipes designed to run 100% full of water. Unlike traditional roof drainage which is designed to flow part full, the syphonic system operates at full capacity, when water is sucked – or syphoned – from the roof down into the drain.

The flexibility of Fullflow’s rainwater system has allowed the architects more freedom in the design of the project and using a syphonic system instead of a traditional gravity system reduced the number of downpipes and underground manholes needed.
