Fullflow win the syphonic drainage contract on Liverpool's new National Museum

Fullflow has won the contract to manufacture, design and install a syphonic rainwater drainage system for the new National Museum of Liverpool. The £68m museum will be one of the world’s leading city museums, reflecting Liverpool’s global significance through its unique geography, history and culture. The new museum will be situated in a new landmark building on the Mann Island site at Pier Head. It will be at the core of the World Heritage Site on Liverpool’s famous waterfront.

Doncaster Racecourse has a £32 million Refurbishment

Lok Ma Chau Terminus Features Fullflow Syphonic Drainage

Syphonic drainage specialists Fullflow designed, manufactured and supplied a syphonic drainage system for GELEC (HK) Limited who undertook the installation, for the new Lok Ma Chau Spur Line checkpoint and public transport interchange in Hong Kong. The new terminal lies on the Hong Kong side of the border crossing over the Shenzhen River which separates Hong Kong from China.

Refurbished St Pancras Station Features Fullflow Syphonic & Gravity Systems

Fullflow has recently completed the design and installation of a combined syphonic and gravity rainwater system as part of the £600m refurbishment of the Grade 1 listed St Pancras Railway Station in central London. The contract was won by a consortium of four contractors; CORBER (Costain O’Rourke, Bachy & Emcor Rail) and was overseen by English Heritage. The Grade 1 listed building required meticulously accurate restoration making the project one of Fullflow’s most challenging to date.

Fullflow syphonic drainage features on project short listed for 2007 RIBA Stirling Prize

The Savill Building, a project which features Fullflow syphonic drainage was short listed for the 2007 Stirling Prize on 26 July 2007. The prestigious award is bestowed to architects for the building that has made the greatest contribution to British architecture in the past year.

Designed by Architects Glenn Howells the Savill Building within Windsor Great Park, London is a modern structure features an undulating leaf shaped roof, nearly 100m in length and constructed from larch and clad with green oak from The Crown Estate’s own sustainable sources from the Windsor Estate. The eco friendly building with its grid shell timber roof (the largest of its type in the UK) required a flexible drainage system which could remove rainwater efficiently from the roof without compromising the aesthetic appeal of the building. The six short listed buildings are chosen from winners of RIBA National Awards and RIBA European Awards, and are visited in September by members of the Stirling Prize Jury. They reconvene on the day of the announcement in October to make the final decision by secret ballot.

In 2006 the RIBA Stirling Prize was won by Richard Rogers Architects for Terminal 4 at Madrid’s Barajas Airport, another building which features a syphonic drainage system designed, manufactured and installed by Fullflow. For further information click here.

Fullflow are accredited by the Contractor Health and Safety assessment scheme (CHAS). The scheme is available for use by any public and private sector organizations to use when shortlisting contractors, suppliers and consultants (companies) who apply to work for them. It provides information about the health and safety part of their application.

Building Project of the Year Awards: Savill Garden Visitor Centre
