Fullflow Complete the Syphonic Drainage on Shrewsbury's Cricket School of Excellence
In 2006 Fullflow won the contract to design, manufacture and install a syphonic drainage system onto Shrewsbury’s Cricket School of Excellence. The Cricket Centre, which cost £2.2million, provides a top class indoor cricket centre for use by local and regional clubs and the public around Shrewsbury and throughout Shropshire. It was designed by Archer Architects, Stevenage, and built by Frank Galliers Ltd, Shrewsbury.
The purpose built cricket academy has a total roof area of 1516m² of which Fullflow installed 8 galvanised steel outlets and just 2 downpipes on a building that has a rainfall intensity of 186mm/hr.
The Cricket School of Excellence has four lanes of nets protected by specially-reinforced white nylon netting and an outfield providing bowlers with 16 metres of run up all on a ‘supergrasse’ floor which looks and feels like grass and provides pitches of test match standards. The individual nets can be taken away to provide a space for six a side cricket matches.
The academy includes a classroom for A Level PE teaching or for coaching courses and video analysis. There is also a viewing gallery as well as changing rooms, a special room for umpires and an office and reception area.
